About Tuluksak

Tuluksak (Tuulkessaaq in Central Yup'ik) is a Yup’ik Eskimo village with a fishing and subsistence lifestyle. Tuluksak lies on the south bank of the Tuluksak River at its junction with the Kuskokwim River. The village is 35 miles northeast of Bethel and has about 365 residents. 

 Precipitation averages 16 inches in this area, with snowfall of 50 inches. Summer temperatures range from 42 °F to 62 °F. Winter temperatures range from −2 °F to 19 °F.

 The airport has a gravel runway, measuring 3,300 feet long by 60 feet wide. The strip provides chartered or private air access year-round through Yute Commuter Services and Ravn Air Alaska. Snowmachines, ATVs, and boats are used extensively for local transportation to nearby villages.
